My Animal

    Sharks are my favorite animals because they rule the sea. There are around 440 known species of sharks. They are the most feared animal in the sea. Sharks typical cruise at an average speed of 8 km per hour, but their top speed is about 31 mph.
    If I could be any animal I would be a shark because they are solitary hunters. A shark is a very calm animal until its time to attack prey. Sharks are mistaken for being aggressive animals, but they really aren't. Most sharks don't like the taste of humans, so they most often just take a bite and swim away uninterested.
    Sharks have few naturals predators. Killer whales, seals, crocodiles, and larger sharks will occasionally eat smaller sharks.The biggest threat to sharks are humans. Sharks are called silent killers because they have no vocal chords and make no sounds.
     Baby sharks are called pups. Just like there are many types of sharks, there are also different ways that sharks come into this world. There are three ways that sharks are born: eggs are laid,eggs hatch inside of their mother and hatch, or they grow inside of their mother.Sharks can have from 1 to 100 babies at a time, depending on the type of shark.
